In early September 2026, Israeli forces killed two teenagers during a raid in al-Mughayyir and demolished homes in Khirbet al-Tabban, leaving around 70 people, including 30 children, without shelter. A report from the Israeli rights group B’Tselem, based on nearly 2,000 Palestinian testimonies, describes current Israeli actions as part of a systematic "Elimination Project" aimed at dismantling Palestinian society through violence, movement restrictions, and ethnic cleansing. By December 2025, Israel had erected at least 925 obstacles across the West Bank, marking the highest number recorded by the United Nations in two decades, severely impacting the daily lives of approximately 3.5 million Palestinians.
