Prosecutors in Colombia have accused former foreign minister Laura Sarabia of abusing her power after she made her nanny, Marelbys Meza, undergo a lie detector test regarding the alleged theft of cash from her home, which reportedly amounted to several thousands of dollars. The incident, which took place in 2023, led to Sarabia's resignation as chief of staff for President Gustavo Petro and subsequent appointments, but she denies any wrongdoing. Meza described her experience as feeling like a "kidnapping" when she was taken to an official building and questioned by police officers.
