Turkiye's coastguard initiated a search and rescue operation after two Turkish-flagged commercial vessels collided in the Marmara Sea, resulting in the loss of contact with the Tugberk Imamoglu, which had a crew of 10. The collision occurred at 3 am (00:00 GMT), approximately 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of Silivri. The other vessel involved, the Alsu, was reported to be undamaged, and multiple naval units along with a coast guard helicopter were deployed to the scene.
