More than 10 days after a catastrophic ice, rock, and mudslide hit a Himalayan valley, rescuers in Nepal discovered 64-year-old Chandika Shrestha alive in her buried home. Efforts to locate survivors continue as teams work through the aftermath of the disaster.

After more than 10 days since a devastating wall of ice, rock, and mud struck a Himalayan valley in Nepal, rescuers continue to find survivors. On September 5, Chandika Shrestha, a 64-year-old woman, was discovered alive on the fourth floor of her partially buried home in the Nuwakot district by the Armed Police Force. She was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.
